Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is made up of distinguished individuals who serve as our ambassadors and provide leadership in the areas of governance and fundraising. They share our mission commitment that no one should die from breast cancer.

Grace Ormond — Board Chair

Grace Ormond is a Vice President at Barclays, where she works with corporate clients on interest rate and foreign currency risk management. Grace joined the firm in 2011, prior to which she worked in management consulting at Oliver Wyman. At Barclays, she is a lead sponsor for the company’s team supporting the Susan G. Komen Greater NYC Race for the Cure and is an active member of the WiN Junior Advisory Council. Grace earned a B.S. in Systems Engineering and Economics from the University of Virginia.

Eric Brinker — Secretary

Eric Brinker currently serves as Vice President of Experience with award-wining airport hospitality group OTG. Responsible for all brand marketing and corporate communications efforts, he and his teams ensure all elements of the brand encompass OTG’s unique vision across a multitude of channels. Joining OTG in 2015, Eric had brought more than 18 years of skills focused on crafting and amplifying the guest experience to OTG’s 400+ locations. With a passion for the hospitality and travel industries, he previously served in a number of leadership roles with JetBlue Airways. Outside of the aviation space, Eric is a passionate executive in commercial real estate, most recently successfully launching a commercial real estate business in Central Illinois. He is also actively involved in the Susan G. Komen organization as a Global Ambassador and volunteer and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bradley University in Peoria, IL.

Regina Q. Fitzpatrick — Governance Committee Chair

Regina Fitzpatrick is a Managing Director and Private Client Advisor in the New York headquarters of U.S. Trust since 2001. She works closely with clients, their families and advisors on all aspects of their relationship. Ms. Fitzpatrick focuses on individuals, families, foundations, endowments, and institutions nationwide. Prior to U.S. Trust, Regina was a Custody Sales Specialist and Vice President with Citigroup Private Bank. Previously, Ms. Fitzpatrick worked at J.P. Morgan Private Bank as a Team Lead in their Family Wealth Group. Regina holds an MBA in Marketing from Pace University, and a BA in English from State University of New York, College at Oneonta.

Kelly Mathieson — Treasurer

Kelly Mathieson is Senior Product Manager at Digital Asset, a financial technology company that builds distributed ledger technology. Prior to Digital Asset, Kelly spent 26 years at J.P.Morgan Chase and 3 years at Goldman Sachs. Most recently, Kelly was Head of JPM’s Collateral Management and Securities Clearing businesses. Other roles at JPM included Head of Global Custody Product, Head of Online Brokerage Product Management and various product management and marketing positions in Securities Services, Futures and Options Clearing, and FX and Commodities Managed Funds. Kelly has an MBA from NYU and a BS from the State University of NY at Binghamton.

Sommer L. Bazuro, PhD — Grants, Policy and Education Committee Chair

Sommer L. Bazuro, PhD is an Executive Vice President, Director of Medical Strategy and Scientific Affairs at FCB Health, a full-service healthcare advertising agency. She’s spent over 9 years at FCB Health where she leads the oncology medical team supporting numerous oncology and hematology healthcare brands. Sommer holds a PhD in Cell Growth and Cancer, from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, and BS-Research Intensive in Cell and Molecular Biology from Yale University. She conducted her postdoctoral research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in which was focused on PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling in breast cancer.

Patrick I. Borgen, MD — Medical Advisory Committee Chairman Emeritus

Dr. Patrick I. Borgen is Chair of the Department of Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center and heads the Maimonides Breast Cancer Center at the Maimonides Cancer Center &emdash the only dedicated cancer center in Brooklyn. Dr. Borgen was recruited from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he served as Chief of Breast Services, Head of the Breast Cancer Research Laboratory, and Director of the Breast Cancer Disease Management Team. He earned a BS Magna Cum Laude in Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University and his MD at Louisiana State University. His post-doctoral work included an internship and residency at Ochsner Medical Institutions in New Orleans, LA (where he was chief resident), and a clinical research fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering. In addition, he received management training in the Program for Chiefs of Clinical Services at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Borgen has received numerous research grants from the National Institutes of Health, the American Cancer Society, the US Army and the National Cancer Institute. He is editor of three major textbooks on breast disease, has contributed chapters to 15 other volumes, and has published over 200 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 139 abstracts and 15 editorials. Dr. Borgen has been Chairman of the American College of Surgeons Breast Cancer Trials Group, as well as a member of the Executive Board of Directors of the American Society for the Study of Breast Disease. He is currently on the Executive Boards of the Breast Cancer Alliance, Inc. and Tulane University and is a member of the American Joint Committee on Cancer, Breast Task Force.

Michael Demurjian

Mr. Demurjian served as Tyme Inc’s Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and an executive member of the Board of Directors from December 2013 to April 2019. Mr. Demurjian was instrumental in raising over $50 million in investment capital while maintaining over 70% control at the time of Tyme Inc.’s listing on NASDAQ between him and his partner. During his career, Mr. Demurjian held positions in finance, manufacturing, sales & marketing, logistics and general management. He has experience in taking companies public and private, raising funds in public markets as well as with banks and private investors. Mr. Demurjian served as CEO of Luminant Biosciences, an oncology research company studying metabolic pathways to destroying cancer cells. Mr. Demurjian has successfully closed ventures with G.E., Stryker, Black & Decker Corp. and Crane Cams. Mr. Demurjian has also served on the Board of Directors of Luminant Biosciences, Mikronite Technologies, and KCC Inc. He also serves on the Board of Advisors for New York University.

Rachel Ferguson

Rachel Ferguson is currently serving as Visit Philadelphia’s vice president of innovation and diverse marketing, a newly created executive role in which she leads marketing strategies in innovation and drives initiatives to integrate diversity and inclusion across the organization and its programs. Under Ferguson’s leadership, Visit Philadelphia will launch and oversee a new Latinx campaign, develop initiatives that continue to attract African-American travelers and drive all LGBT marketing efforts. Ferguson will also lead the company’s strategic plan and diversity and inclusion efforts, and analyze new ways for Visit Philadelphia to remain competitive in the highly changing marketplace. Previous career highlights include overseeing public relations as a communications executive at CBS New York for nearly seven years, serving on the steering committee for the CBS Corporation Diversity Council, and creating the inaugural Sisters for the Cure brunch in New York City to address the disparities in breast cancer for African-American women.

Edward Flanders, Esq

The Managing Partner of the New York Office and former head of Pillsbury’s Litigation practice in New York, Ed represents companies in large complex commercial litigation and arbitration matters, including claims arising out of corporate governance, oil spills, tax-sharing agreements, insurance coverage disputes, passenger railcar manufacturing contracts, and long-term supply contracts.

Nancy Geller

Nancy Geller is a Senior Vice President at Frenkel Benefits with over 25 years’ experience in the industry, bringing a broad range of knowledge and expertise to the benefits arena. She specializes in building teams that develop and service clients based on their unique set of needs, ensuring the utmost client satisfaction. Many of Nancy’s accounts, including law firms, are large organizations with over 1,000 employees. Prior to Frenkel, Nancy worked as a senior consultant with both Hewitt Associates and Mercer Consulting.

Felice Javit, Esq

Felice is Vice President/Senior Counsel at Simon & Schuster, Inc. (“S&S“). Since joining S&S in 1988, Felice has held a variety of positions within the Legal Department. In her role, she counsels in all areas of intellectual property, including First Amendment, Copyright, Trademark and handles pre-publication manuscript review. She is responsible for S&S corporate marketing initiatives, including sweepstakes and contests; television and film licensing of S&S properties; domestic and international distribution and licensing arrangements; and oversight of litigation in the areas of libel/invasion of privacy, copyright, trademark, and contract claims. Felice is a member of the New York State Bar Association and a member of the Copyright Committee of the Association of American Publishers. She holds a J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College.

Debbie Madden

Debbie Madden is the founder & CEO of Stride Consulting, author of Hire Women, and two time Inc 500 CEO. She is a mother, wife, and breast cancer survivor. Debbie has built 5 companies from the ground up and has been CEO of three of them. She is passionate about building teams that individuals truly enjoy being part of. Due to her reputation as a passionate woman executive in technology, Debbie is a sought after speaker and writer, having appeared in Harvard Business Review, Inc. Magazine, Forbes, CNBC, Huffington Post, Varney & Co TV and more.

Donna-Marie Manasseh, MD — Medical Advisory Committee Chair

Dr. Donna-Marie Manasseh is the Director of Breast Surgery at the Maimonides Breast Cancer Center in Brooklyn, NY. Prior to joining the Maimonides team, Dr. Manasseh was the Co-Director of the Women’s Breast Center and the Chief of Breast Surgery at Stamford Hospital. Under her leadership, the Women’s Breast Center at Stamford Hospital became the first center to be accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. Dr. Manasseh completed her general surgery residency at NewYork-Presbyterian and her breast surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Manasseh is a strong advocate of empowering women by educating them about breast health and disease, in the hopes that this education will lead to earlier detection of breast disease and a better chance of being cured. She has published several chapters on breast disease and has co-authored a textbook relating to breast disease and evaluation. She is also a member of several societies which promote breast health, including the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the National Consortium of Breast Centers and the American Society of Breast Disease, and remains a surveyor for the American College of Surgeons National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancers, whose goal is to evaluate breast centers across the country to ensure they are providing quality care to women in their communities. Dr. Manasseh has participated in many conferences and speaking engagements to promote breast health and help women make the right health decisions.

Nicole Gresham Perry

Nicole Gresham Perry is a Founder and Managing Partner of Carpere Group, a New York-based investment and advisory firm that creates and grows consumer-oriented companies through investing activities. Before founding Carpere, Nicole spent over a decade at J. P. Morgan in various senior positions, primarily in Equity Sales and Trading and ultimately in Investor Client Management, managing the firm’s relationships with some of the largest global hedge funds. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2000, Nicole spent eight years at Brown Brothers Harriman, one of the nation’s oldest private banks, in both fixed-income and equity research, investment strategy and leadership roles in equity sales. She began her career in finance as an International Tax Associate at Price Waterhouse. Nicole serves on the Board of Directors of Women’s World Banking, the global microfinance network. She has toured the globe extensively, speaking with entrepreneurs to fully understand their financial needs. She has also served on the Women’s Board of the Boy’s Club of New York, and is a former Vice-Chairman of the Associates Committee of Lenox Hill Neighborhood House. She is also the National Chairman of the Parent’s Leadership Committee of Philips Exeter Academy. Nicole graduated with a dual B.A. in Business and French from Rice University in Houston, Texas and attended L’Institut D’Etudes Politiques in Paris, France.

Jennifer Peve

Jennifer Peve is Managing Director of Business Innovation at DTCC where she oversees business development activities to identify new product development opportunities and broaden DTCC’s capabilities. She has over 25 years of financial markets expertise, including consulting and practical experience as well as the design, development and deployment of business strategies in a dynamic environment. She has extensive product knowledge across the entire product life cycle, including OTC, FX and FX Options, OTC Metals, Stock Lending, OTC Credit Default Swaps, OTC Interest Rate Swaps and Swaptions, OTC Total Return Swaps, F&O, Energy and Equities. Jennifer currently serves on the Technology Advisory Committee of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as well as FINRA’s FinTech Industry Committee and is the former Chair of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA)’s Banking Working Group. She is a member of SIFMA’s Blockchain Roundtable and is a regular speaker at industry conferences, with past participation at Consensus, SIFMA, ISDA and AMF events.

Jill M. Rabin, MD, FACOG

Dr. Jill Rabin is a practicing urogynecologist for over twenty-five years and is an active researcher, teacher, consultant and media spokesperson. She holds seven patents and one copyright for urogynecologic medical devices. Dr. Rabin has authored three books on women’s health including “Mind Over Bladder.” Dr. Rabin also acts as reviewer for a number of peer-reviewed journals. Among her honors are the Tita Monti Award for Outstanding Community Service and the Arnold Fenton Award from Northwell Health, the George M. Estabrook Distinguished Service Award and the Alumni Achievement Award from Hofstra University. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Rabin’s biographical inclusion is listed in Marquis ‘Who’s Who in America’ (2011-2017) as well as “Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare” (2011-2012).

Emily Silver

Emily Silver joined PepsiCo in September 2007. In 2018 she was appointed Vice President and General Manager of The Hive, PepsiCo’s new operating entity focused on developing and accelerating growth of smaller, emerging brands with strong consumer potential in high-opportunity segments in North America. She has direct accountability for transforming the company’s portfolio to meet consumer’s changing needs and deliver sustainable, long-term growth. Previously she was Sr. Director of Digital and Integrated Media Solutions, overseeing media and digital for the PepsiCo Beverage Brands in North America. She has worked on the Mountain Dew brand and was responsible for the launch of Mtn Dew Kickstart which was the top beverage innovation of 2013 as well as numerous Dew and Diet Dew campaigns. Previously, she worked on the Pepsi brand managing the Pepsi Refresh Project, and was responsible for the launch of Pepsi Throwback. Emily received her MBA, Marketing, from the Yale School of Management, and a BA in Economics from Brandeis University.

Gerri Willis

Gerri Willis is a television news journalist with Fox Business Network. Prior to joining Fox Business Network, Willis served as the personal finance editor for CNN hosting a weekly half-hour program Your Bottom Line which focused on ways to save Americans money and the economy’s effects on personal finance. Before CNN, she was the senior financial correspondent for Smart Money Magazine. She joined the Fox Business Network in March 2010, appearing across all programming on the network. Willis is the author of two business books, “The Smart Money Guide to Real Estate Investing” and “Home Rich.” She was also the winner of the Excellence in Retirement Savings Reporting award in 2001, which is bestowed by the American University School of Communication and the Investment Company Institute’s Education Foundation.
